First Blog

I have blogged on another site, but I wanted to start something new, so here I am. This first entry (and possibly others) will be "all over the board" until I get back in the swing of blogging, so please be patient.

A little about me:
I'm a single 41 yr old black woman. I work full time (have had my job for almost 15 yrs) and I own my house and car. I have one son and my mother (61yrs old) also lives with us. My son is a college student and works part time, my mother works full time. I also own two dogs, a terrier/chow mix and a beagle/spitz mix (although he looks a like like some type of coyote mix). That rounds out my household.

Ask just about anyone that knows me and they will say that I am a really laid back, friendly (although a bit shy), open minded, a sometimes opinionated person who loves being surrounded by friends most of the time. I, like everyone else, also like my alone time. When I'm not working, I'm usually hanging out with my friends, reading/watching tv or online chatting. I guess a lot of people would say that I lead a pretty boring life, but I consider it relaxing. Like most people, I hate to be stressed or stress about things.

The reason I started my blog today, is because I am aggravated once again. With my job, I work 12 hr shifts. Sometimes nights and sometimes days. This morning when I got off work at 6am, I had a "lack of caffeine" headache, so I drank a cup of coffee before heading to bed. I went to bed at approximately 730am. At 9am, I woke up to bring my son to work, At approximately 930am, I returned home and went back to sleep. When I returned home, my mother was awake and I knew she needed me to bring her to the grocery store, but I hoped that she understood that I was exhausted and needed more sleep. I went to sleep and slept until approximately 3pm and, as I should have guessed, she was pissed that I hadn't brought her to the store earlier. WTF? Am I not entitled to 5 hrs sleep? She goes to sleep at 9pm and wakes up at 6am. When my son and the dogs are playing in the hallway and making noise, she yells at them that they need to be quiet cause she has to work in the morning. So, what entitles her to 9 hrs of sleep, but not me to 5 hrs of sleep?

It's now 730pm and I'm "over" the aggravation of earlier today, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten it. After all, it has happened several times before. She has actually stopped talking to me for days (and yes, she's living in MY house and acting this way)! At this point, I know she's not moving out. She pays electricity and buys groceries, so who would leave that setup? Where else can you live for approximately $400 a month and have a cell phone, cable, internet and everything else all paid? I bought my house approximately 6 yrs ago and I have had sex 3 times in it, YES, THREE TIMES! At my age, I should be able to have freedom and I don't feel I do. She knows I won't tell her it's time to move out and I know she won't leave because overall, we do have a good relationship. Honestly though, if I would have thought it would've ended up this way, I would have bought a 2 bedroom house instead of a 3 bedroom house!

Thanks for reading and hopefully by the time I blog again, things will be better.

XOXOX
